About $13 ~ $14 for 100 pounds of grain for the horses gas! That lasts about 2 weeks!

The cost of gas is directly proportional to the depth of those pockets you mentioned NFBuck. I mean, as long as we're thirsty, they'll keep feeding us. I hate it, and I only have a 5 mile trip to work. Our dependency on foreign oil will continue because we can't change our lifestyle quick enough. But doing things like riding the bus or buying smaller cars and houses that use less fuel will take time. This country is all about convenience and having what we want when we want it. It's going to take time to make a change like this. It's not going to be easy, it's beginning to become painful, and we may simply find a way to absorb the rising costs. Hell, I started already but selling the land yacht and buying a smaller more fuel efficient one, but that doesn't happen overnight. There needs to be a paradigm shift - such a new fuel is discovered and you can make yourself from household garbage just by adding water.

3.19 for the cheap stuff this morning - 4.03 for diesel - feel bad for those folks

they burn less gas though, so on a per dollar basis diesels are a tad cheaper i believe

the math depending on the vehicle. a guy i know had a jetta gas engine and got like 23ish and the diesel he replaced it with was in the mid 30s. say 34.

34/4.03= 8.44
23/3.19=7.2

8.44-7.2/7.2=.172

The new jettas supposedly get over 50 mpg. if i wasnt 6'7 id consider it...
