CoWorkers...
anyone else have the guy that talks too much? I work with a guy that is constantly coming to my desk to try to talk - he only sits a few cubes away so its very close for him. He has gotten to the point where he just stands at my desk even when I've got my back to him ignoring him. I've told him to go back to his desk before and he gets all [censored]y for a few hours but then comes back. My other two coworkers are out this week so its just the two of us and he is driving me nuts already!

Just tell them you really have a lot of work to do. They should understand that (even if it is a lie!) and respect your privacy.
Luckily, I have an office with a door, so I can just shut it if I don't want to be bothered. I actually have the opposite problem that you do -- everyone is way too quiet here! They just hole up in their offices and go about their nerdy business all day. The one person that always talks about her personal life and gives you WAY too much information (although most of it is a bunch of lies) is luckily on the other side of the building, so I never see her. She is a nut case.
One problem I do have is my boss will come into my office as soon as I get to work in the morning and start in on the day's business, etc. Just give me time to take off my coat, turn on my computer, and hit the coffeepot! I really hate that but can't really tell her to buzz off.

Does he ever mention his "O" face?
Here is what you do. Today, and everyday until it stops, go to Jay's Hot Dogs and eat 3 with everything, and a Gyro. Now, I trust that you are fully aware of the gastrointenstinal effects this food will have on you. Each and every time he comes near your cube release the pent up gasses in his general direction. It should not take more than a few days to see a marked change in his behavior. You may want to continue on with the Jays anyway though, just because it is so [censored]ing good.

Turn him on to BP, and then he'll waste all of his time over here and leave you alone.

I have a couple workers like that. I tried to be nice at first, but that's never a good idea. It just makes them feel more at home in your office. I started saying, "Hey (insert name), I have to really take a massive [censored]," and the visits dropped off and in one case ceased altogether. The only danger is that they call your bluff and follow you to the can. If they do that you probably should just file a restraining order b/c you have a stalker on your hands or someone who loves [censored]. Either way, that's bad.
