OK, OK... I was looking for an intelligent discussion on this matter, and that lasted about 4 posts. Next thing I know is that DiHard is pounding the bologna. I couldn't disagree with him any more so. Sure they have a great backfield, the bologna pony express, but when you get past that part of their team, well, the rest of their team is just plain bologna. If I remember correctly, bologna got plastered by Mayo last year. There's no way they'll ever be inserted into the top 5 this year.

Rugby, scrapple only plays well at home. It's truly a regional thing. They'll never make it out of the East this year. And although Ham does get more publicity, we can't forget that they usually get smoked when it comes down to crunch time.

I pretty much agree with the top 2, but I'd flip the birds and put Turkey Pastrami ahead of Turkey. I just think that Pastrami is more seasoned this year and should make it past a lethargic Turkey squad.

Oh, and my darkhorse this year is... horse.

Scouts are saying that mid-Ohio Sausage Gravy (sponsored by Bob Evans) may have the stuff this year or next, despite their predominantly regional following. They'll slop it on ham, roast beef, whomever they're up against. Exceptional running attack, but lacks solidity up front. Has a tendency to lull you to sleep and then, BAM, off you go with the trots and SG has put a hurtin' on ya. Tell'em Ohio's here.

OK then Captain Obvious, we all know that Turkey's great come late November, but I'm telling you that Turkey Pastrami is more consistent day in and day out. They don't get lulled to sleep. Besides, what championship was ever won in November?

Don't forget, Turkey's field general, Coach Coop, always chokes somewhere during the season and never makes the big game. Coach Coop is the reason you don't pick Turkey in January, Turkey Pastrami will still be around in January, whereas Turkey will just be dealing with leftovers.

the game: Turkey Pasrami puts together a great first half, but the L-tryptophan kicks in in the fourth quarter and the more conservative Corned Beef scores late to beat a tired TP team.

the game: i just dont know why the media is so infatuated with teams like olive loaf that just throw everything into a blender and try to look sexy...if olive loaf could just tone down that offense a bunch it would be..well bologna.....with the home-field advantage and more natural approach i go with bologna in this one...

game 3: Salami@Roast Beef
line: RB by 5
the game: this is a game where the aged salami team shows its experience against a slightly undercooked roast beef team...this game turns early as the roast beef team gets too juiced up...leaving them dry by the end of the game as the veteran salami team wins this game late....

Salami @ Roast Beef is the game of the week, IMHO. Let's not forget that this game will feature instant replay. If Salami can take control of the fridge and CONTROL THE [censored]ING CLOCK they will have a chance. Roast Beef will more than likely spread the ball around. Thier QB has really come on strong over the first few weeks of the season. He can throw the touch pass but can also (say it with me) put some mustard on it if he has to.
