LOL. Yeah bad choice of words I suppose. Vegas is just such a poor city, especially to raise children IMO. High crime rate, high cost of living, poor schools, poor roads, and the summers are rough. The only negative thing I can think comming back home is cold winters and thats no big deal I dealt with it for 19 years. I actually miss crisp fall mornings and sure as hell wont miss 150+ degrees on concrete pad I work on out here.

What do you want to know? Feel free to post here or PM me. I have not lived there since I graduated high school in 89. I now live in west Akron, but am in the Falls frequently. Nice "little" town that has changed quite a bit over the past decade or so. Used to be just a working class community. Now it has more of a working class and upper middle class mix. BigPapa - The recruiting offices used to be on Front Street. Went in there once to see about the chances of flying with corrected vision. I remember the Navy guy told me most likely, but all the other branches told me NO. Taos - I was over where Lou and Hy's used to be in west Akron tonight. Now just a bunch of drugstores. PS - If you want to look like a local do not pronounce Cuyahoga with a hard O. Just slur it all together or say The Falls.

Dunno about Front Street, they have been over on Portage Trail since at least the early 90's. That's when my buddy joined the Marines and we were in and out of there all the time, and it has been there ever since.

We don't usually refer to it as Caucasian Falls, we like Cuy-a-Honky Falls. ![]()

Welcome back to the Buckeye State
![]() Stayed the night in Cuyahoga Falls, a real nice city, clean, people are real cool. I went to Blossom Music Center to see Metallica. Cuyahoga is also mentioned in a song "My City Was Gone", by the rock band The Pretenders (lead singer and songwriter Chrissie Hynde is an Akron, Ohio native).

I have lived in the Stow for the past two years and drive through the Falls quite often. A really nice neighborhood if you ask me. I would agree though that the "upper middle class mix" description is off as it remains almost exclusively a working class town--but we'll let you slums hang out in Stow as long as you get out by sundown.
