Moving to dayton area
I have been offered a job in the Dayton area and look to be accepting it. So I was wondering if any of you guys or gals live around that area and can suggest some nice areas to move into.
Looking for decent houseing prices, good schools and a nice community to live in. Would like to stay within a half an hour or so of Dayton if possible.

Live in Cincinnati.
South side of Dayton seems nice. Centerville (newer) and Oakwood? is older homes.

Just make sure to stay away from Newark. I hear terrible things have happened there. Look at what happened to Buckyle .

Grew up in Dayton. I highly recommend Oakwood.

Dude, not to rip on your new hometown, but have you ever been to Downtown Dayton???? It is basicly Mead, some govt buildings and a huge bus stop.
There are some cool sections, but Downtown Dayton is a freeken dump.

Oh I have no plans to live in dayton and don't expect much from it. I have been in the military and know areas around bases are not real great. Besides this gets me much closer to the shoe

We lived in dayton while I was a kid, the place was kind of a [censored]hole, maybe it's changed, but I doubt it.

Just moved to Columbus from Dayton a few months ago, but still work in Vandalia, and have family in the area.
Like was said before, Oakwood and Centerville are two good places to live that are south of Dayton. Springboro is very nice, but their property tax/school situation is really a big problem right now.
Tipp City and Englewood are nice places north of Dayton, and closer to I-70 (and The 'Shoe) than the places in the south. Both have good schools too.
