My thoughts are with you guys, GUB. We spent most of my oldest's first two years at the children's hospital here. I watched them save her life twice and [censored] some things up, too. I still cringe a little when I see a scar on her foot from an iv that infiltrated while she was in ICU and they'd kicked us out. Your son is lucky to have you guys there pulling for him and he sounds like a real fighter.
Remember, no matter how hot the nurses are, don't, I repeat, DON'T look... until your wife has left the room. |

Update: Lil'est Ubet is still in the hospital. I hung there from Friday until this morning with one go back home for clothes break, and although we thought that he might come home yesterday, he took a step back and was sick and nauseous and unable to eat or drink, so they cancelled his discharge and plugged him back to the IV.
I told his nurse about 3:00 am when she came in to heperin flush his IV line that I could tell she dug older dads with asthma......but she somehow resisted my charms. ![]() Maybe today he can come home. We have home health nurses set up to give him his IV antibiotics. He is in good spirits (between wanting to puke and all) and all the Ubets appreciate the many kind words, prayers - and even books - sent our way by the many fantastic BP posters. The vbet Tibor set up to see when he'd flatline was a little much, but this is BP. ![]() |

So if he heads home soon, can we chalk this up to Les Miles?

Thanks for the update.
Have you considered the possibility that you being there bedside for virtually the entire time the past few days is why he's nauseous? |

Les Miles no showed - so the Hospital rounded up the kids and had them talk to Les on a telephone. The hospital gave them canned questions to ask, so my son's first question "How does it feel to know the Gators have a winning record in Death Valley?" was not asked.
![]() Les was asked what is the loudest game he'd ever been to, and he answered Florida 2006.....so a little Swamp luv at least. ![]() |

Great post. I agree.

Only on BP can one find posters ripping a kid that got decapitated at a SixFlags in one thread, then emotional support for a father who's son has a [censored]in' tummy ache in another.
