[censored]-ing roofers
There's a crew completely removing our old roof and putting in a new one.
[rant]
That's fine, but I'm getting awful tired of all the noise. Above my head, all day long, there's been this banging and pounding, yelling back-and-forth, pounding and banging, the loud rumble of motors and other machines, more banging and pounding ....
I just hope when they're done with my wife upstairs they go outside and fix the [censored]ing roof.

Around here people get Amish guys to do their roof. Bearded guys in home made clothes who haven't bathed in a week usually don't interest the wives, so the work gets done sooner.

In 1984, while on duty in Munich a set of German roofers were hired to re-do the red tile roof on all quarters on the post. They arrived each morning at oh eight hundred hours. The first man up the ladder tossed down a rope to which the other roofers would attach cases of beer in half liter bottles. At seventten hundred hours they would descend the ladder and begin putting all the empty bottles into cases, clean up all the old tiles they thrown on the rounds and everything would be perfect before they left. The new roof was perfect in everyway.
It may have been the Keebler elves that did all the work 'cause they sure put away a ton of beer each day.

That puts a whole new meaning to "even keeled". Basically what I mean is: Murphy's 18th law of physics:
As long as you produce as much work as you do empty beer bottles, the job gets done on time. What a great work ethic. The Germans have had the hidden secret this whole time with the warm beer thing and all.
