Pros wouldn't be made to hit out of the things on most public courses yet amateurs are, I don't get it.
Get rid of all sand bunkers and replace them with 3 inch long grass bunkers.
More difficult for pros and easier to maintain. |

agree to disagree i guess. i like bunkers. i think they frame the fairways and greens very well. i always have a hard time playing holes with no greenside traps. it just doesn't look right.

Aesthetically they're great but on a majority of courses these days, they get neglected.
Just hard pan. |

it rained a lot back there in the spring. maybe a lot of courses had their bunkers washed out and haven't been able to get more sand in them. either way, i hear ya. hard pan bunkers are impossible.

I'm decent out of bunkers but hitting out of hard pan with a sand wedge that has 10 degrees of bounce isn't exactly easy. |
