This year it was the 8-9 seed game, so not that big of an upset. But as they said in the video, this is our first win in the NCAA tournament. Cornell has a much richer lacrosse history, winning the first NCAA title in 1971, back-to-back titles in 1977 and 1978, and an appearance in the national semis last season.

The game was also on Cornell's home field. Yeah, it wasn't a huge upset, but definitely a game we weren't favored to win.

The outcome wasn't as much of an upset in as much as how tOSU dominated the game. Rare to find a game with players at this level where the outcome is as lopsided as this.
Either way, great day for tOSU LAX history. Here's to starting a run on the LAX field as well!
Congrats to the team and coaches!

Same thing with the OSU v Denver game before they brought in the back ups on the "record breaking day" right before the Spring Game. I couldn't believe how well they played that day. I'm excited for the game against Duke. Should be a good one!!

Well, Cornell was seeded higher, playing at home, and has a MUCH better history in the sport. For our boys to go up there and DOMINATE them on their field was a pleasant surprise. I thought we could win, but I never thought it would be so easy.
Next week, on the other hand, would be a major upset if we could knock off the top-seeded Dookies.

Not to be the poop in the puch bowl, but I hope we can just keep it close. Beating Duke would be an upset of epic proportions. USA v. USSR kind of stuff. If we can stay in the game till the 4th it would be fine by me.

I like the underdog role. It seems most days "The Ohio State University" is the bully on the block everyone wants to beat...but not in lacrosse.
Our team has offensive firepower and plenty of confidence after last week's win. Duke looked almost human versus Loyola, so while a win would be a major upset I'm stopping short of USA-USSR - that was men (literally) versus boys.
I'm just enjoying being pumped about a lacrosse game.
