This truely hurts Columbus. McConnell really cared for this city, so much so he brought a pro franchise. Poor one out for a fallen homey tonight.

Brassard's time coming
Center intent on returning to Columbus to stay in fall

The Columbus Dispatch
Derick Brassard
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- One by one, Derick Brassard's teammates received late-season call-ups to the injury-depleted Blue Jackets.
Derek MacKenzie. Joakim Lindstrom. Alexandre Picard. Zenon Konopka. Adam Pineault. Tommy Sestito. A slew of Syracuse Crunch forwards was promoted ahead of Brassard.
It seemed the Jackets would have brought director of player development Tyler Wright out of retirement before recalling the franchise's top pick in the 2006 draft.

Hejda makes safe pick, re-signs with Blue Jackets
Wednesday, April 30, 2008 3:28 AM
By Aaron Portzline
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Blue Jackets defenseman Jan Hejda did not want to test the waters of free agency this summer. He said that several times this season, and now he has proved it.
Hejda, 29, re-signed with the Blue Jackets, agreeing on a three-year contract worth $6 million.
He'll make $2 million per season through 2010-11. He had the potential to make far more as an unrestricted free agent beginning July 1.

hejda was a good deal. good value.
i wonder about the sharks. you just have to wonder about wilson and what he might do. im hoping for the stars to bust out the brooms. you just wonder with wilson and his personality if players may want out and management may be more than happy to retool.
the crunch now will take on the marlies. these kids led something like 22mins and won the series! pretty much everygame has been ot for the cardiac crunch. brule has struggled. brassard has looked good. jake v has not joined the club after halifax was eliminated cuz hes "banged" up. legein has joined on an ato and has played sparingly. im excited for the crunch kids. they play a very agitator/sandpaper etc game. sestito was suspened for taking a swip at the other teams goalie and i believe has one more game on his suspension
lines down there have been mustly
mckenzie/brassard/dicasmiro
lindstrom/konopka/brule
picard/frischmon/dorsett
rycroft and leigien
with 7 dmen
best chant from the series has been "we get free healthcare" to the clapping chant
on the wc nasher joins the club friday night against slovenia.
the canadians got spanked by the russians (minus feds, ovie, semin) as the best player not in the world potted two goals. moyzakin. why is that name importnat? greenies for an answer...
