After the way the first period went, I was expecting another 6-1, 8-1 type drubbing. It was nice to see the fellas hang in there and keep competing to pickup a point.
Rick Nash certainly makes this team a helluva lot better. He created some beautiful scoring chances last night. I do think he needs to get his brakes checked. I have a little heart attack everytime he goes slamming into the boards. ![]() |

the jackets have the stars at nationwide tonight, puck drops at 7.
no word on vyborny's injury yet. foote and berrard are questionable. no idea who will start in goal, pascal played great in goal last night with 35 stops, but playing on back to back nights for a goaltender is tough so maybe denis? team canada picks their team today at 5pm, look for nash and foote to be named to the team. |

Nash should have had his, just missed by the slightest of margins. LeClaire was schooled Pavel Datsyuk and Jason Williams. Datsyuk's move in particular was just plain sick. |

berard has been put on the IR retroactive to the 17th (hell be eligble to come off christmas day)
steve groetzen has been recalled from syracuse. anyone intersting in going tonight they have a ticket special, two 40 dollar tickets for $61 in honor of nashs home debut. i believe these tickets are around the points, but dont hold me to it. aka pretty decent upper bowl tickets. |

early it looked lilke that would be the chase.
0-7 on the man power in the 1st. the first 7 of the first 8 penalties were called on the stars then 6 of 7 on the jackets...these young officials are terrible. half of them and there 70 and 80 numbers shouldnt even be in the ahl, they should be down in the echl. they have to punch in something on the pp. what was up with chimera on the first line and nash on the third line. granted it got them two goals but if you let the team concentrate on nash you take away all his passing ability. vyborny was scratched for the first time in 195 games i believe with his rib injury. foote said hell be back friday night. richardson left the game with a broken jaw and will be out 8 weeks. |

Nash makes a big difference. You can see it out there with is puck skills and how the defense crowds around him. Unfortunately, it's not close to enough. That says a lot about the rest of the talent on this team.
