The Nash goal was pretty. He was about 35 feet away and took a slapper and there was a screen in front of Legace, who didn't have a chance. I didn't think Nash had a shot like that, which makes me wonder WHY he's always playing behind the net sometimes.

If they hadn't taken a collective vacation in the previous 16 minutes or so, they would've won the game in regulation.

I am nowhere near the hockey guru you guys are...just a casual fan that has tried so hard to get more in to CBJ hockey.

Noreena got abused in the shootout. Zherdev looked like he was just going through the motions on his attempt...it angered me. Despite the great job by the CBJ to tie things up in the closing seconds, the Blues dominated the third period for the most part. Nash's goal was exciting and the Jackets had a few chances early in the OT. Stupid (although questionable...especially Federov and Foote's) penalties in the third that the Blues capitalized on. Tonight was really tough to watch...

Zherdev frustrates me too....they guy is bigger and faster than Fedorov was back when Sergei was the same age and he has just as much skill, but Fedorov wanted it more (and that's not a good thing sometimes)....

Norrena can't stop the Blues on the Shoot Outs for some reason. He was 4 for 6 allowed coming into this one and the Blues scored on both this time around too.

ETA:

the penalties were weak, but the worst call was the play that got whistled down when Svitov was in the crease and the ref blew the whistle too damned early.

i nevered claimed to be a hockey guru. i know a couple of people thats my claim to fame for it...

that being said i agree its frustrating, the reality is i keep telling myself its a young team. it is, but at a certain point its what year six? guys like nash and klesla are the real reason i guess i still watch. i dont care what anyone says nash is tough. hes got that shot bm80 says that you dont hear about, his speed is underrated and he gets held, pulled and grabbed to a level that was crazy in the old nhl.

then you get kids like parma, okt, and svitov comming on.

that being said i still expect that quick goal after a big penalty that the jackets take or a goal is waived off etc.

i dont know what to tell you wad. welcome to the club...

You're one of the resident hockey gurus around here as far as I'm concerned. I've enjoyed reading you guys' stuff lately. I know it has been said a hundred times but this team's tendency to play down to the competition is frustrating. They play the tougher teams tough and seem to take stretches off against weaker teams. Clearing the zone was a big problem tonight, much like I heard it was against Montreal.

And 80 is right...the quick whistle before the Svitov got that put back hurt, although luckily Nash made up for it. The ref behind the goal obviously lost the puck when it was underneath Legace.

thats life as a jackets fan. you know youre gonna get hosed on just about any call. i really dont care if it goes to toronto. thats the reality. its the only club not to make the playoffs, and until something changes in regards to winning i dont see that changing.
