Nice to see that David Duval's already +7 through about nine after scorching the course with an 84 yesterday.

He's the saddest story in golf since Greg Norman.

Those two aren't even in the same stratosphere. Norman had a meltdown in one round of a major. Duval's been fighting this for nearly 4 years.
Like Ian Baker Finch, can shoot a 65 in a practice round, step between the ropes on Thursday and fire an 88.
It is a shame though b/c he seems like a good guy.

I'm talking about going from the king of the world to next to nothing.
Duval has had 10+ instructors in the past couple years and can't seem to get it right. He has a natural fade on his shot and he's hooking the ball out of control. He is a mental meltdown.

We'll agree to disagree, Norman's is b/c of injury and he was the world's best golfer for at least 5 years.
Duval was the best golfer for about one but his problem is totally between his ears. That's why I find his a much more sad situation.
Norman's got one of the world's biggest yachts and about 20 Ferrari's, I can't feel too sorry for him.

age factored into norman too.
duval has publicly stated he didnt like the pressure. he said he wasnt enjoying life when he was being hyped as tigers rival. he says hes loving it now (maybe its the weight, he golfed better heavier too)
