One of my most joyous moments watching the Masters came in 96 when he choked. I still get enjoyment when I think about it.
My most memorable Masters, which also involved Norman, came in 1986. Watching a 46 year old Jack Nicklaus (one of OSU's greats), make that charge and the electricity that the gallery had, realizing that they were witnessing one more improbable charge from arguably the greatest golfer of all time, well it had me on the edge of my seat 20 years ago choking back tears and to this day, remembering it sends shivers down my spine. Witnessing Jack's final green jacket ranks very high on my list of most memorable sports moments.

Tomorrow will be interesting as that old saying that the Masters doesn't really begin until the back 9 of the Final Round is usually true.

I was at a conference in the bush and, back then, television was broadcast only a few hours a day anyway. But, they telecast that charge and I can tell you that South Africans of all persuasions were screaming for Jack to win. It was one of the first times I ever felt at home here. There must have been fifty people in the pub and not a dry eye around.

The funny thing is that everyone seems to bash Colin Montgomerie at every turn, but from all accounts Greg Norman is a bigger dick that Monty will ever be, yet he was a media darling during all of those choke jobs...go figure?

That '86 Masters I think was the best tournament ever. Kite lipped out a putt that would have forced a playoff on 18, and of course Norman established himself as Choke City, Australia, when he shanked his 2nd at the last too.

The coverage of the third round is on USA Network right now.

Things can really change fast. About an hour ago, Tiger was charging. Now he has 3 straight bogeys, and is at -1. At the same time, Darren Clarke was not in the top 10. Clarke started the back 9 birdie-par-birdie-eagle, and is now within 1 stroke of the lead at -4, in a 4-way tie for second.
