Simply incredible.
2-0 start to the year, and he's just getting into the swing of things. Grand Slam year? I'd say he wins 3 of the 4 majors, if not all of them. |

This guy is just fricking stone cold. A 24 foot putt on the last hole to win the tournament. Bryant gave him a go today and he had to work for it.

He's so good it felt like you were watching golf history when he actually 3 putted from inside 10 feet today. I bet that doesn't happen again for the rest of the year.
The best part was watching him get red assed with his driver a couple of holes later. Honestly suprised the driver shaft held up. |

His tirade on sunday was classic Tiger. That guy is so intense when he is trying to win a tournament. If you missed it, someone shot a picture at the top of his backswing and he damn near pulled his shot 40 yards into a lake. He told the guy (para-phrasing) if he did it again he would break his f-in neck. I think he was trying to make an example out of the guy and set a tone for the rest of the year. It has happened to him multiple times already this year and he finally had enough. Good for you Tiger.

Any radio-hack personality who says a camera clicking in his backswing shouldn't make a difference b/c other sports have sounds going all the time is an idiot. Andrew Siciliano made me change my dial today. |

yep
The really scary part is he played like [censored](for him), and the rest of the field still could barely beat him. Its not that they suck or that they are laying down for him, Tiger is just that much better than anyone else. It gets even more impressive for me when you consider just how damn good everyone that plays on the PGA tour really is and that Tiger is that much better than they are. |

Its amazing how focused he is. I saw him last year at the Wachovia Championship in Charlotte, NC. He was in a dead heat with Phil for the FedEx Cup at that stage (last in the season). With the crowd that was following him and the pressure that is put on the PGA golfers, it is absolutely amazing the poise he has. He was tied with Vijay going to the 14th. His presence just made Vijay fold. Tiger never blinked an eye and just keep drowning birdie after birdie. He just made everyone look like you and I look on the weekend.

I don't know why Tiger paints himself into a corner, as he has done twice.
The last time he announced to the world that there were no weaknesses in his game and that he expected to win the major tournament the next week, Retief Goosen won the US Open. It was silly to announce that he planned to win all the majors this year and to go unbeaten. He has been pummelled since and fails to live up to his own unreasonable expectations. He could have won the Masters if he had just not allowed his head to take him out of it and miss those short putts. On the other hand, Immelman may not have played everything so safe either and may have scored better, but I am convinced Tiger lost this tournament, rather than being beaten. |

I agree that Tiger had self inflicted issues this week. I noticed early that Tiger was on edge all week. He was letting himself get bothered by mediocre shots rather than playing on. He was complaining a lot (even by his standards) after many of his shots.

somebody was probably taking his picture during those missed putts. the nerve of some people.

"Can someone win all 4 majors in a year?" Tiger says yes, would you expect him to answer differently? He's already held all 4 at one time, just didn;t do it in a calendar year. I for one don't think he'll ever do it, too many things have to go right for that to happen, but would be far from shocked if he did. And I think it's a bit insulting to Trever Immelman who won by a very convincing margin that Tiger lost the tournament, he didn't win it. Tiger is capable of being beat when he doesn't bring his "A" game. On the flip side, no one can touch him when he does bring it. Tiger will get his rhythm back and start dominating very shortly, but it's far from shocking that the "field" won last week, especially after Tigers performance from 3 weeks ago. Quote:
