What was confusing and what I thought someone would ask, "besides Williams, where were the other Buckeye single's players?" |

I guess that's what I really meant when I mentioned the team. |

He was in the same graduating class as Buchanan, but was not as highly ranked as a college prospect.. Then bam, he blew up during the spring season, including the NCAA championship finals victory over Moneke. Would love to see Chase blow up like that this year! |

this isn't the main draw yet, it was the first day of qualifiers, but most expect him to be able to advance far enough to qualify, he won his first match today 6-2, 6-2.
I can't wait til the main draw to see Chris Klingemann play |

Just to give a quick update for anyone who is intrested, Britton played his 2nd match today, and had a little tougher time today, playing a guy named Michael Hayes (from Ireland), score was 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. His head didn't seem to be in it for a lot of the match, he played like doodoo for a while, but Hayes finally broke down in the 3rd set. A lot of arguments during this match, had to ask for the referee on 3 differnet occasions.
If Britton doesn't find his serve and backhand soon, he's gonna lose soon, and MAY miss out on qualifying for the main draw |

couple of updates today, Britton won his last qualifying match today pretty easily in not so great conditions (we're located almost right where Tropical Storm Ida hit) and qualified for the main draw. The main draw started today, and Chris Klingemann won his first match today against a Wild Card from Univ of West Florida, 6-3, 6-2.

Team Overview
Two new recruits in the tennis signing day! 4 star prospect Kevin Metka of Worthington Kilbourne has signed a LOI with the Buckeyes. Metka is a 6'3" lefthander who won the Div. 1 Ohio High School state doubles title last Spring. Second player is a Blue Chip 5 star prospect from Wisconsin, Nelson Vick who signed his LOI to play for the Buckeyes next season. Vick is a riser on the recruiting boards, the #1 ranked player in Wisconsin, and 4th in the Great Lakes region. He has a 48-19 record in USTA tournaments, which is the 23rd ranked 2010 prospect in America. Congratulations, welcome to the Buckeye family and continue that Big Ten home winning tradition until you graduate. |

I am very involved in high school tennis in Wisconsin and i was extremely happy to hear that Nelson Vick decided to come to Columbus. I have had the pleasure of working with Nelson in the past few years at Marquette HS and can tell you that he is an amazing kid who is destined for great things at the college level. He won the state singles title here in Wisconsin as a freshman and lost in the championship the last two years to his high school teamate who is currently playing singles high in the lineup at Wisconsin.
Nelson is a solid player and is definetly a great fit for the OSU tennis team. |

and I think it has been explained to me once before but if a guy is still in college is he allowed to play in these types of tournaments. If so, which tournaments are college players allowed to play in and out of what stipulations. Thanks. |

I'm pretty sure, not positive though, that college players could play in any tournament that they want (see: britton and chase playing in the US Open), but not turning professional limits them on the amount I think, not sure. Britton has turned Pro and left college, so it doesn't really apply to him
