THE WOOD verplank +4 MC
No one is out to a big lead. looks like all of our picks are playing well (except verplank, what a hack j/k) I must say that the Ogilvy, Woods, Mickelson group lived up to their expectations. all three are right in there. Tiger is playing his typical early round major game. just plodding along making an occasional birdie and no big numbers. if he gets it going tomorrow it will be over IMO. Me and THEWOOD are heading out there tomorrow and i can't wait. it will be my first time going to a major. we will probably follow phil around all day and catch a little bit of tiger when we can. this is going to be another great weekend for major championship golf. hopefully we can see someone challenge tiger down the stretch similar to 00 when bob may took him to a playoff or 99 when he and sergio went at it. just once i would like to see someone go toe to toe with tiger and win.

Verplank sucks balls, he was even after the 15th hole lastnight. Guy just couldnt keep it together, oh well.
Should be a great day out on the course. Hopefully Mick can put some birdies together and keep his driver in the fairway.

Was I seeing things yesterday or did Tiger's driver have a metal shaft on it?

Buckeye Gets Double Eagle!!!
Sindelar's double eagle is golf's rarest
MEDINAH, Ill. - Joey Sindelar holed out a 3-wood from 241 yards on the par-5 fifth hole Saturday for a double eagle, the rarest shot in golf and only the third in <FORM class=yqin action=http://yq.search.yahoo.com/search method=post></FORM> PGA Championship history. Sindelar was 2 over for the tournament when he made the albatross.
It was the first double eagle at the PGA Championship since Per-Ulrik Johansson at Riviera in 1995. The only other was by club pro Darrell Kestner at Inverness in 1993.
Gary Evans was the last player to make an albatross in any major, in the first round at Royal Troon two years ago in the British Open.
The most famous double eagle in any major came at the 1935 Masters, when Gene Sarazen holed out with a 4-wood from the 15th fairway at Augusta National, a shot that enabled him to get into a playoff and beat Craig Wood the next day.

I got a double eagle a couple years ago...Yes, I am bragging!! Holed out a 7 iron on a par five for a two...I actually tried to walk off the course (hole 16) but my friends wouldn't let me. I had no motivation to finish...It was the shot of my life and what could I possibly do beyond that, except ruin the feeling...I think I went double bogey, double bogey to finish.... ...Still waiting for my hole-in-one though...
