Pavlik v. McCart
Not sure how many people outside NE Ohio have heard of Kelly Pavlik, but he fought McCart tonight. First 3 rounds were intersting, Pavlik probably had the 2-1 lead, then in the fourth Pavlik lost his balance after a slight punch, put his hand on the ground and was called a knockdown. Fifth round was Pavliks and in the sixth McCart didn't want anymore and went down for a TKO, very entertaining fight and great win for the Youngstown native. McCart isn't in his prime anymore, but I would like Pavlik to get his shot, not sure we would beat a Winkey Wright or Taylor, but I would love to see it! Anyone else see it?

didn't see this fight but have seen him fight before. He would get hurt badly against Winky or Taylor but he isn't a bad fighter. Nice win by him.

[homerism] He *might* get hurt, but he also *might* give one of them guys a fight. I think he deserves his shot regardless.[/homerism]

No doubt, but the last 3-5 fights he has dominated, I know he was supposed to, but mehh. He isn't dominating looking, nor doers he look incredibly fast or powerul, but get into the ring with him and look out!

Yea, I watched it (despite the fact that Wallace Matthews was a commentator). It was a pretty good fight and a noteworthy showing by Pavlik. Regardless of whom he has fought up to this point, he's beaten everyone and in fact dominated almost all of them, but this was supposedly a big step for him, since Bronco has a decent record (48 wins) and had never been knocked out. Aside from maybe the third, I thought Pavlik won all the rounds. He had a couple nice shots n the first, and in the final round, his head and temple shots just sapped the juice from McCart.
It was nice to hear MaCarty giving him some major props after the fight.
He's ready to step in against some of the top 10 fighters. Maybe a few fights against some of the better fighters, and then a title shot.
This was the first I saw of him and he certainly looked like a good fighter.
