Wings' leading scorer out 2-3 weeks with inflamed disk

Not as bad as anyone would think. This will be a good rest for him while he gets healthy. His scoring has been carrying the Red Wings for the past month or so anyway.
If he misses 2 weeks, he'll miss games against: Nashville (2 or 3 times), Chicago (he's already missed one against them on Tuesday), Colorado, Boston and Los Angeles.
If he misses 3 weeks: Calgary and Vancouver and would probably return against Columbus on the 24th of March.

Pavel Datsyuk has resigned with the Red Wings.
I don't have any details yet on what the extension covers but when I get it I'll post them.....
ETA: Supposedly there is a 1PM press conference scheduled to announce the deal.
