Well, he did say he'd take less to play for a winner and you can't get a better team than the Wings.
So, when he gets his name on the Cup next year, does he pimp himself out to the highest bidder?

a 6m increase in the salary cap, thats how.
at diner yesterday we had a conversation, it is once again a tale of two markets, not many in between. interesting to see what happens now that all six canadian teams are on high ground due to the exchange rate...

Holy [censored]....I didn't even know they were looking at him really hard.....
and that makes next year's FA market really interesting because while they will resign Zetterburg, you could have either Franzen or Hossa or both hitting the market too....damn.....

Or we could sign them both.

He wouldn't take less to stay in the same city that also happened to get to the Finals. He's going to be hated in Pittsburgh. Their offer couldn't have been that much less.. they offered him over 7M per season, and it was a multi-year contract. I thought he wanted a multi-year contract.
I don't blame him, even though I hate the Wings. Tough to not accept that offer, considering they just won a cup and didn't really lose much.
