Women's Soccer: Collison?s Goals Lift Ohio State Over Michigan State, 3-0

Link

COLUMBUS, Ohio ? Ohio State defeated Michigan State, 3-0, Sunday in women?s soccer action at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium to complete a two-game weekend sweep and improve to 9-5-0 overall and 3-2-0 in the Big Ten Conference. Junior Lisa Collison scored two goals and freshman Alex Burzynski also scored while goalkeeper Lauren Robertson recorded her sixth shutout of the season. Ohio State defeated Michigan on Friday, 1-0.
The Buckeyes dominated play on a spectacular day for soccer that was dedicated to the parents of the 31 members of the team. The team fired 17 shots toward Michigan State goalkeeper Nicole Galas with 11 of those on goal. The Buckeyes also had a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks and, for the second-consecutive game, were the aggressors on the field with 15 fouls compared to Michigan State?s 11.
?Today turned into a wonderful opportunity to get some players off the bench and into the game,? Lori Walker, Ohio State coach, said. ?It was great to see some offense, but it was even better to get two shutouts on the weekend. That is what is really important.?
