New Events Highlight 2007-08 Men's Golf Schedule
Ohio State welcomes nation's best teams in May
June 13, 2007

The Ohio State Scarlet Course will be the host site of the NCAA Central Regional.
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Jim Brown, now in his 35th year as head coach of the Ohio State men's golf team, announced the schedule for the 2007-08 season Wednesday. The Buckeyes will travel across the country to compete against the best teams in collegiate golf in preparation for the 2008 NCAA Championships, which will begin in Columbus in mid-May.
Ohio State will be one of three NCAA regional sites May 15-17, 2008. The Buckeyes will play host to the Central Regional prior to the NCAA Championships in West Lafayette, Ind., May 28-31 at Purdue.
Brown said the schedule fits his philosophy of playing the best teams nationally throughout the year.
"The 2007-08 tournament schedule is one of our most competitive schedules ever," Brown said. "We will be traveling all over the country to compete on some outstanding golf courses and against some of the other premier teams in NCAA Division I. We have a great mix of new tournaments along with returning to some familiar places that we have visited for a number of years. Each tournament will provide a great test and will prepare us for the NCAA Championships -- our ultimate goal."

Buckeyes' Coffing back on course
Former Middies standout named Big Ten Golfer of the Week months after returning from surgery for wrist injury last season.
By John Bombatch

To go from the operating table to Big Ten Golfer of the Week in a matter of months is quite a feat for anyone, but Middletown native Carling Coffing did it after facing the possibility she'd never play golf again.
Now, with a retooled golf game and a wrist that's "about 95 percent," Coffing is out to make even bigger accomplishments.
