With all the personal struggles he has had I still have hope he developes his bjj and makes a run at the UFC lhw title. He belongs in a cage rather than a ring. There is no escape from his GNP when his opponent is pinned against the cage. If his stand up gets better I think he could shake some things up. I know he is a better fighter than Keith Jardine, Forrest Griffin, and Tito Ortiz.

I agree with you. A Randleman/Ortiz fight would be a great fight IMHO. I know he has to finish up his suspension, but I really hope Dana lets him back in, although I don't know if Randleman would want to even go to the UFC. He doesn't have the best record, but probably has fought the toughest collection of fighters. Ever.

With PRIDE bought up what would stop him from going to the UFC? You think he would do a lesser promotion or would he be insulted to have to start at the bottom?
Although his record is lacking he is one of the most exciting to watch and Im not just saying that because of the scarlet kool aid I drink. He is so amped before a fight (which might be one of his problems)
Another interesting read regaurding k-ran and other underachievers.

Randleman had a couple unfortunate circumstances, which I think are reflected in his fight record.
Anyone see the Bas Rutten fight? Bas Rutten being awarded a decision over Randleman was as legitimate as Roy Jones not winning the gold medal in the Olympics. Randleman kicked his ass, period. That would have put his record at 8-2 and at the top of the UFC talent.
More recently, the loss to Fedor Emelianenko began a momentum shift downward for Randleman. Fedor is IMO the most dominant fighter currently, and maybe ever, in MMA, and Randleman should have beaten him. And I am not talking from a scarlet-colored-glasses perpective. Randleman suplexed Fedor such that Fedor's entire weight landed directly on his head which was firmly planted into the ground. My initial thought was that Randleman broke Fedor's neck. I think that was Randleman's reaction as well, as he layed off out of caution. Fedor took advantage of the gift he was given and immediately proceeded to submit Randleman.
For those who haven't seen this fight:
