Agree.
You realize that the teams that gave Detroit the most trouble this year play in the Central right? Columbus Chicago and Nashville.
And now we have Pittsburgh getting cheap....more surprisingly Olcyzk is calling them out for it too....

those teams are young and physical. they are skilled yet physical. nash, towes etc are the type of players that detroit struggles with. also those teams they are the most likely to play on back to back or 2 in 3 types. michel should take a note. the real issue is that is outside of the pens game, step outside of your game and you end up taking dumb penalties a la malone...

On the interference...Malone came charging in hard and stopped, Osgood approached him and then got knocked off balance. The ref only looked over in time to see Osgood falling.
None of this takes away from what the Red Wings are doing. They are looking like a buzzsaw that won't be stopped right now and that goal was one of the best this season.
I do want to see this series go 7 though, as a fan.

you have to protect the netminders, you just have to. like quarterbacks in football they are too valueable. no denying that ozzie went down easy, that being say id still protect the goaltenders.

Detroit's 2nd period was pretty bad for them, but Pittsburgh still didnt' get a lot going for them offensively.
I personally think Malkin is out of gas, but we'll see what happens in Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh does have a goalie who is playing pretty well despite not getting much help around him. If Pittsburgh could get some offense going this series could get very interesting.

malkins a horse and was rode hard all series. malkin doesnt look healthy to me. that being said hes played a halfway decent two way game. sid seems to be floating a lot to me.
i said a few months ago about the wide open east. i think you are seeing that this series. the east tends to have a much more open neutral ice game. this allowed the pens to float through the zone with the puck. look at detroit they want to move the puck via pass vs the pens with the puck on thier twig. id like to see the pens d use a rink wide pass then attack vs just shoveling the puck towards the centre cirlce in the neutral ice.
