Tyson Gay

Tyson Gay is one of the premier US sprinters, if not the best. Tyson ran 9.77 100m on Saturday at the Olympic trials, which is one of the fastest times ever recorded (9.72 is the world record). He ran a 9.68 in the finals on Sunday, the fastest 100m time EVER recorded. It will not count as a world record because of the tailwinds.

To tie this in w/ OSU sports..... yes, he has SEC speed (Arkansas Razorbacks), but he ran the race with a throwback jersey, paying respect to Jessie Owens.

I watched that race... I was completely shocked to see that time. It should be an amazing race between him, Usain Bolt from Jamaica (set the world record a month ago), and Asafa Powell from Jamaica (previously held the world record).

For those of you who (like myself) are in desparate need of some comic relief this morning, I give you this...

It's old, so maybe some of you have seen it or posted it in a different thread.

Christian Site's Ban on 'G' Word Sends Homosexual to Olympics

The American Family Association obviously didn't foresee the problems that might arise with its strict policy to always replace the word "gay" with "homosexual" on the Web site of its Christian news outlet, OneNewsNow. The group's automated system for changing the forbidden word wound up publishing a story about a world-class sprinter named "Tyson Homosexual" who qualified this week for the Beijing Olympics.

Tyson Homosexual was a blur in blue, sprinting 100 meters faster than anyone ever has.
His time of 9.68 seconds at the U.S. Olympic trials Sunday doesn't count as a world record, because it was run with the help of a too-strong tailwind. Here's what does matter: Homosexual qualified for his first Summer Games team and served notice he's certainly someone to watch in Beijing.
"It means a lot to me," the 25-year-old Homosexual said. "I'm glad my body could do it, because now I know I have it in me."
