Should Golf Be An Olympic Sport?
GOVERNING BODIES PUSHING TO ADD GOLF TO 2016 OLYMPICS
SOUTHPORT, England - Golf's major governing bodies have come together to push for their sport to be added to the Olympic program in 2016.
The PGA Tour, Royal & Ancient, European PGA Tour, LPGA, U.S. Golf Association, PGA of America and Augusta National have joined forces to lobby the International Olympic Committee.
The IOC will decide in October 2009 on possible changes in the Olympic program at the same meeting at which it picks the host city for the 2016 Summer Games. The finalists are Chicago, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro and Madrid.
Golf hasn't been an Olympic sport since 1904.

Exactly what I was thinking. I guess it could be the outdoor equivalent of running around with ribbons on a gymnastics mat or the summer version of sliding a rock down an ice-skating rink while sweeping who knows what off the ice in front of it.

if rock paper scissors can be an olympic sport, i don't see any reason why golf can't!

I know everybody is joking but I voted no. I dont think the world is well enough represented for it. The only reason I would vote for it is because the regoin where the 2016 games would be held invented the sport.

When was RPS a sport? I definitely missed that one. I think the US team is number 2 in the world so we should medal.
