the sale was finalized what 2008, they already had gone to being a dead last franchise before the deal was finalized. toss in the trade for denis, picard, smith while shipping out prospal, richards, boyle (the last two were overpaid also)

Who's the problem there: Len Barrie or the other owner ? They spent alot of money last year, just to suck. They certainly should be better this year.
Hedman is a pretty good place to start.
