Funny thing is, the Coyotes GM has been saying left and right on sports talk radio that they've never discussed moving the Coyotes and that they aren't going anywhere. 2 weeks later and they file BK and have a buyer lined up to move the franchise.

I personally don't care because I've never even been to a Coyotes game, but a lot of people in Phoenix are [censored]ed. Paying Gretzky $7 million a year to coach them and not making the playoffs in about 7 years didn't help fan support.

Southern Ontario? Where?

I've driven from Detroit to Toronto and it's about 200 miles of farmland. The only city of any size between them is Hamilton and it was pretty much a [censored]hole.

Scary thing is Jake is that it's the same man who previously was suppose to have bought the Pens like 2 years ago but then backed out. What a douche bag.

I was thinking that Hamilton wanted a team.

Phoenix made the playoffs in 2006 I believe.

Gretz isn't a good coach. And it hasn't helped that he was stuck with a roster and no money could be spent to bring in new talent.

This team is going to Hamilton if Bassille buys it. He was also the guy who was flirting with the Preds in Trashville.

That's the only place it could be if it's southern Ontario, I guess.

I was passing through Hamilton and decided to check out the Tiger Cats CFL game that night. As I drove through the town the blight was palpable. By the time I found decrepit Ivor Wynn Stadium, and sized up the surrounding neighborhood, I decided to just continue on to Toronto.

I hope it works out, though. I like having Canadian teams in the NHL. It never made sense to me in Phoenix, anyway.

There is an American city that makes sense for an NHL team but no one really mentions it.

Milwaukee. Hockey is huge in Wisconsin and Milwaukee, even with it's proximity to Chicago would be a good choice IMO.

Agree. The more Canadian teams, the better IMO. It might not help the game's popularity in the US, but it's just better.

Phoenix last made the playoffs in the 2001-2002 season.
Gretzky is not a good coach and his salary was way out of whack.

i have questioned this for years. why did they leave winnipeg to begin with??? IMO there are too many cities that have hockey teams that shouldn't!! atlanta, phoenix, tampa bay, and nashville are a few that come to mind!! wisconsin is a great location for a team!!

I read somewhere that they may move back to Winnipeg. That would be justice.
