Roddick wins a total of 5 games.

It would have been so much nicer to see Murray vs. Federer

Not exactly accurate. Roddick was up a break in the THIRD set, and the match was 1 set apiece.

I think it's hilarious that Roddick beat Murray. They hype the British guy every year, be it Henman or Murray or whomever, and for years they have always fallen short in front of the home folks.

Well Murray kind of owns federer so it's not that far fetched. He definitely has a better chance than tim ever did.

Roddick will have to replicate the 75% first serve percentage he recorded against Murray to have any hope of holding serve against Fed.
I like Roddick on grass, he is too lumbering to be effective on clay. Even though he purportedly lost 15 lbs and increased his conditioning, he will always be most effective on points that end quickly. The longer the rally, the lower the Roddick effectiveness. Have to believe that Fed will try to make Roddick hit 4 winners each point and Roddick will grow weary, impatient, and try for too much. Would love to see the American pull off the victory for the sake of reinvigorating the passion for the game in the states, however. . . Federer with the straight set victory; 6-2, 6-3, 6-0. |

I also see Fed in straight sets, but I think ir will be more like 6-4, 7-6, 6-3.

I turned this thing on at 5-5 in the first set, Roddick is facing a break point, loses it, only to be saved by instant replay. Five minutes later, Roddick gets one break point, wins it, and takes the first set, 7-5.
Second set tiebreaker, Roddick leads 6-2 - one point away from going up 2 sets - and Federer wins six straight points to take the set. 7-5, 6-7...this one could take awhile, but that tiebreaker could haunt Roddick. |
