Just to add a bit of local interest BB73 is there a chance we can get some odds for tOSU Freshman Chase Buchanan who earned an invitation to the US Open by winning the 18 and under Junior title in July?
Something like 10,000-1 might seem fair. Last edited by gracelhink; 08-26-2009 at 10:02 PM. |

Note - If he wins, 'Field' will also pay off, since a bet was placed prior to the Buchanan line being added. |

The draw is out. Federer has Djokovic and Roddick in his half of the draw. So if the seeds hold, Murray plays Nadal in the other semi-final.
01. Federer 31. Hewitt 21. Blake 14. Robredo 12. Soderling 22. Querrey 26. Mathieu 08. Davydenko 04. Djokovic 29. Andreev 23. Kohlschreiber 15. Stepanek 10. Verdasco 20. Haas 28. Hanescu 05. Roddick Bottom Half 07. Tsonga (plays tOSU's Chase Buchanan in the first round) 30. Troicki 17. Berdych 11. Gonzalez 13. Monfils 18. Ferrer 32. Almagro 03. Nadal 06. Del Potro 25. Fish 24. Ferrero 09. Simon 16. Cilic 19. Wawrinka 27. Karlovic 02. Murray Last edited by BB73; 08-27-2009 at 12:23 PM. |

When do they usually put out the playing dates/times
I thought they might broadcast it on the Tennis Channel. Talking about Buchanan's match. Sorry forgot that. |

Some of it will be on the Tennis Channel, some on ESPN.
USOpen.TV.Schedule I'm not sure when the specific matches get start times, but they'll show here in a couple of days, by clicking on Round 1. USOpen.Daily.Times |

Nadal hasn't made a US Open Final yet, and I agree it won't likely happen this year.

Wimbledon grass, and French clay are much more forgiving on leg injuries than the US Open hard court. If this was not the big stage, I believe Nadal would withdraw, or still be resting. Nadal however, passionately wants a US Open title to complete his "slam". Is Roddick a factor? He played the match of his career in a Wimbledon final vs. Fed and fell short. After a while those kind of matches impact players mentally. "I played my best, and it wasn't good enough, Fed is just at another level." I suspect Roddick has resigned himself to hoping Fed stumbles before the semis. Sleepers for an Open victory are in my opinion Sam Querry, who has had a strong summer, del Potro, and Tsonga (Buchanan's 1st round opponent). Tsonga just looks like an athlete and think we could hear some noise from him in the Meadow. Of note the ITA 2009 single's champion Devin Britton (defeated tOSU's Steven Moneke in the NCAA championship final) got a wild card to enter the US Open but got an absolutely rotten draw. He will face in his first round match the #1 seed Roger Federer. |

I think that Federer match did a lot to Andy, but anything is possible if he gets it going. Roddick has the firepower but I put him below Federer, Murray, Nadal, and Djokovic all playing their best tennis on the hard courts. In a best of 3 match I like Del Potro too. Querrey is good but he has a couple years before he is a contender. (if he gets there) I think Gonzales will have a good showing. He is taking more time off this year and I think that will help him with the style he plays. |

And the qualies are gonna be sick too.

I question whether his time off is for rest or to recover from physical ailments. On the one hand he has the potential and talent and rest to run the table and yet OTOH I would not be shocked if Gonzales is one of the first "upset victims" at the Open. |

Querrey has a million reason$ to want to win the Open.
