We all tend to see things differently when the actions are by someone we know and have affection for. It's human nature, not just a Hollywood thing IMO.

I guess I should've checked this forum before starting a thread elsewhere. These people make me sick. How does one's mind become so warped? I can understand debating whether or not he should still be pursued after all these years but the "is wasn't rape-rape" comment was way out there. How do high school drop outs like her (and Rush Limbaugh for that matter) get these gigs?

Ok - while a rock solid conviction of the rape of a child usually makes me wish for a much stronger punishment, at least we're agreed that he deserves to be punished for his actions.

script, i suspect this is an indictment of our media and judicial system and their mistreatment of victims rather than whether or not this scumbag should be punished.

child molesters and murderers both kill their victims. murderers at least have the decency of not dragging it out over 10's of years. he deserves a bullet to the head.

I believe I read where Polanski gave the victim $500K as a payoff... Great for the victim... but there's those little issues like rape of a child being a crime and last I checked, so is fleeing... so if we could just ignore those two minor points...
