| Political Conversation and Debate This forum is not a temporary one. It will exist up to, and after the presidential elections. Some people want to talk or even argue politics, other's don't. Let's see if we can apply some reason and understanding to the debate. |

Reuters: Ferraro defends Obama race remarks
Wow! Just wow... This woman's on some kind of a suicide mission. Her comment that the Obama campaign's refusal to let go of this is causing further divisions in the party is absolute bullsh*t. He wasn't the one who hurled the first round of kitchen sinks in the race. So now that it's getting beyond ugly, Hillary is having her cronies try and put a stop to the bleeding and call "Uncle". But they're only making themselves look more like the Uncle Toms that they are. FWIW, I see that the domain names hillarydropout.com, hillarydropoutnow.com, and giveuphillary.com are all parked by a registrant... ![]() Quote:

To corroborate my notion, Obama responded to Hillary's VP offer in a speech in Mississippi by taking words right out of Malcolm X's dictionary - telling the crowd that they were being hoodwinked and bamboozled by Hillary. Very powerful stuff if you think about the context. |

Is that similar to Ferraro's comment about "if he was a woman he would not be in this position" really confused me. Not sure what she meant by that (seriously). |

Given Obama's response, I'd say its safe to say that others in his campaign might have seen it that way. Of course, it seems that the Clinton campaign decided that they weren't overt enough too, and just decided to have Ferraro say something more directly. |

What is very clear, however, is that Hillary is willing to alienate African-Americans and young voters and critically split and embitter the party in order to take down Obama. Again, it's not about the party. It's not about getting the Republicans out of the White House. It's not about the policies for America that she pretends to care about. It's about she and Bill, their ambitions and their legacy. Hopefully, the party elders have realized that she's lost any chance of winning the general election even if she can steal the nomination. I'm an (almost) 40 year old white man and lifelong Democrat, and I will NOT vote for her now. I can only try to imagine how alienated A-As or young 20 somethings who've been drawn into Democratic politics for the first time because of Obama must be feeling at this time. Good luck winning in November on the backs of 50 year old white women and some union guys who think Bill will bring their jobs back. Last edited by ORD_Buckeye; 03-12-2008 at 04:25 PM. |

Where is Howard Dean? Where is the party leadership? Someone needs to put the clamps on this NOW. And where in the Hell does Ferraro get off making comments of someone getting shoved to the head of the line? How the [censored] did she get a shot at being VP if not because she was FEMALE.
I didn't think you could put someone incapable of stringing together three coherent sentences in the White House. I sure didn't think you could keep him there. I didn't think you could get another GOP president following this 8 year cluster [censored], but I didn't count on the Democrats having the incompetence to make it so. |
