| Political Conversation and Debate This forum is not a temporary one. It will exist up to, and after the presidential elections. Some people want to talk or even argue politics, other's don't. Let's see if we can apply some reason and understanding to the debate. |

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (official)
Well ladies and gentlemen it just under 2 years until we vote for our next President. The wonderful junior Sentor from NY is at it again. She is positioning herself to the "whatever they want to hear" side of politics. Since the beginning of the war in Iraq she has sidestepped the question on her vote for the war. The reason for her sidestepping is because she wanted to see "what the people want to hear". Well now she has found that position. With Obama staying strong on his stance, she has to make sure people know where she stands (this month). So unfortunately we have to put up with the lies and contradiction for the next two years. We will see this with many politicians leading up to the election but nonemore than the junior Senator from NY. Enjoy ABC News.com Hillary Clinton Says She Won't Have Voted...... http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalra...y_clinton.html Last edited by PrincetonBuckeye; 12-19-2006 at 02:46 AM. |

Hindsight's 20/20. If it was going smoothly she'd be out there saying the exact opposite.
BTW, If she becomes president I am moving to another country. |

I believed her more when she suddenly found out she was Jewish and a Yankees fan.

Stop the press!!! A politician is positioning themself for future endeavors............that's a shocker.
If you want to discuss political positioning.........how about Mitt Romney's shady gay marriage stance? He's granted requests from gays to marry, and yet comes out in November in favor of a ban on gay marriage. It's the same concept, and yet some on this board (staunch conservatives) are have jumped on the Romney 2008 ship. Obviously some on the right are afraid of Hillary, I come to this conclusion by the constant need to create her into the boogieman. You might as well save your breath, she will not be the democratic nominee in 2008. |

Daddy
Why do you think she will not be the nominee? My biggest concern with her will be the universal healthcare issue. I know I am selfish. I do not think I should fund the healthcare of every smoker, alcoholic, drug abuser that has unsafe sex and eats like a pig. I do not think my kids should have to wait for a doctors appointment because some idiot took her kid in for a cold. New Orleans had Charity Hospital which took care of those mentioned above. It was not a pretty sight. Ok enough about me. So who will it be in 08 for the DEMS? I am not sure who it will be for the REPUBS. She is running but I think she is weighing her chances for success. Will she sell outside of New York / East Coast and CA? I believe my wife would vote for a woman but not Hillary as she hates her for putting up with Bill's BS. |

I won't say I'm moving out of the country, because half of Hollywood claimed the same thing if Bush won again and the [censored]ers are still here.

I think that her being a woman has nothing to do with her electability......it's mostly her last name that does her in. I also think that a good deal of Americans don't see a whole lot of authenticity in her (as stated above). That is why I don't think she'll be the candidate. Who will be the Democratic candidate? I'm not sure, but I am a huge fan of Obama. He is a hell of a public speaker, and has a certain charisma about him that reminds the Dem's of Kennedy or Clinton. People say that experience is an issue..........that is such a bull[censored] cop out. Bush had no foreign policy experience, he was elected. I feel that a president is a person who makes the final say on large scale issues after taking in all the evidence from his advisors. Part of being a good president is putting a lot of smart people around you who help you weigh out each decision. Obama is a very calculating individual, and he is on the right side of many issues that a majority of Americans are on. I just think that there will be some sort of backlash next time around for a president who is sharp, well-liked, eloquent, and optimistic (not someone who views the world as a huge combat zone)........pretty much an anti-Bush kind of guy. Obama fits that mold perfectly in my opinion. I also think that Edwards and possibly Richardson will make a push FWIW. |

The Demos have their own fissures to mend. Could we see a primary election with essentially four distinct parties, two GOP and two Democrats? I see both parties becoming more and more polarized and 'tweeners, (aka 'moderates') like myself getting squeezed out of both. |
