| Political Conversation and Debate This forum is not a temporary one. It will exist up to, and after the presidential elections. Some people want to talk or even argue politics, other's don't. Let's see if we can apply some reason and understanding to the debate. |

Here's the real question ... why the concern about signatures? The guideline about Avatars, Signatures and Titles is simply an extension of the more important points involving Political Forum behavior. Those are the topics everyone should be focused on. The flamming, trolling, lack of respect and constant use of rhetoric are serious problems that the majority of Poli Forum enthusiasts want corrected. How to get from what we have, to what we want, is what should be driving this discussion. The point on Avatars, Signatures and Titles is ancillary to the discussion. I doubt any of the mods would have any serious interest in monitoring everyones signatures (etc.) unless someone raised an issue about the topic. The guideline is there to remind everyone that those features (Avatars, Signatures and Titles) are broadcast site wide and that is not where we will accept political commentary. The Poli Forum is here for a reason. Use it under the guidelines we set as a community and it will flourish. Abuse it and you might eventually need to find a different site to discuss politics. |

One is a positive statement, one is negative. I'm pretty sure it's the negative political commentary that's got so many people's panties in a bunch on this forum.

Again, this is a situation where we are trying to tighten things back up to get the level of discussion in this forum back to the way it was when it originated. But like everything else here at BP it is dynamic, and is thusly subject to change in the future. So please be patient, play by the new rules, and we'll see how things progress. |

This is not written in a secret language folks. The position of BP is to not have any political commentary outside the poli sub-forum. A "Romney '08" sig line is a political commentary hence not allowable per the BP position. It has nothing to do with a sig line being positive or negative. This is not a new BP policy; the enforcement of the policy may appear to be new however.

Are you kidding? Tennessee doesn't even have electricity....we have to have that stuff imported from Missouri.

Oh, see, that's a tricky one. All that TVA electricity is diverted to my house and I have to import the rest. Still no other electricity in TN.

Bumping this thread (kind of a silly thing to do as it's already a sticky) as a reminder of the forum rules as the election year starts to heat up.
Infractions will be issued swiftly to prevent things from getting too ugly. Also please know that in addition to the normal infractions that will be applied, we also have a forum ban (that can refuse poli forum access to any posters) available to get rid of any repeat/significant offenders. Forum bans can be short-lived increments or they can be permanent bans. So please keep this in mind while discussing things in this forum over the upcoming months. |

Please remember.
