| Political Conversation and Debate This forum is not a temporary one. It will exist up to, and after the presidential elections. Some people want to talk or even argue politics, other's don't. Let's see if we can apply some reason and understanding to the debate. |

Does Bush ever talk about the National Debt?
When Bush II started in office the national debt was $5,727.776.738,304 today the national debt has $9,448,975,987,066, that's an increase of over $3.7 trillion dollars since Bush took office and it's growing. Does Bush ever bring up the national debt?

No. To do so would be unpatriotic.
We're at war here. You're either with us or with the terrorists. |

Meanwhile, Congress has to authorize spending so it's not just the president.
The reason no one really talks about it is because they ALL just love spending money. Nobody wants to cut their pet projects so what talk you do hear is just empty rhetoric. The Reps love military spending and the Dems love social programs, neither cuts one for the other, so the debt will keep going up, up, up.
The whole thing is crazy considering we have the largest economy on the planet AND one of the highest corporate tax rates. Our government takes in tons of money, and still manages to outspend it.

That's true, I just didn't know the terrorists took form as the U.S. economy and unborn Americans indebted to foreign governments.

In America we have no national debt. In America we do not have this phenomenon. I do not know who has told you we have it.

True, but the budgets under Republican Presidents explode and the debt rises much more dramtically when compared to a Democrat President, as shown by this graph (the graph only goes up to 2004 so add another 2 trillion on top of the 7 trillion)
