Marc Dann
So much for "changing the culture" down at the attorney general's office. Anyone want to give an over/under on how long till Dann follows his aides out the door?
2 top Dann aides fired, 2 more resign
Quote:
Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann admitted today he had an affair with an underling that created an atmosphere that encouraged sexual harassment and cost four people their jobs...
The Democrat, who promised to end the "culture of corruption" in state government during his 2006 campaign, essentially acknowledged he wasn't qualified for the office. But after "on-the-job training" he now wants Ohioans to give him a second chance...
"Marc Dann failed the people of Ohio, and he must resign immediately," DeWine said. "The state's top law enforcement officer has allowed immoral, unethical and even criminal behavior to thrive under his own supervision and at times with his own participation. He turned the attorney general's office into a raunchy frat pad, lied to the press and lied to his own investigator. It's simply not acceptable that everyone but Dann himself will be held accountable."...
Later, Ohio GOP Chairman Robert T. Bennett added:
"Marc Dann has been proving himself unfit for the job of attorney general since he took office, and today's admissions are just further confirmation of that fact. The lying, mismanagement, and cronyism that Dann and his senior aides engaged in are an utter embarrassment to the people of Ohio. His disgraceful conduct not only exposes him as a fraud and a hypocrite, but it highlights a complete failure on the part of Democratic leaders to adhere to the standard they promised to Ohioans."...
[Strickland] acknowledged the appearance of a "double standard" in that Dann's staff lost their jobs but Dann didn't, but quickly added he still hadn't read the full report. Strickland did say that an outside investigator should be hired to show the public the matter has been fully probed.

Dann needs to go-his conduct has been pathetic, and his buddy Gutierrez is straight out of The Sopranos. Strickland has done a good job as governor so far, but he needs to turn up the heat on Dann,IMO. There are some places-Youngstown,Chicago,New Jersey,Louisiana,Arkansas,-where you should never trust a politician from-or count on them NOT to engage in embarassing behavior-regardless of party affiliation.

Only two posts about this ? How unusual for BPer's to be so quiet.
Of course this Performance by Mr. Dann only reflects what has been going on in the country for years now.
The lack or loosening of moral standards in all sectors of our lives has brought us to this. Before anyone gets hostile I am talking about both sides of the political fence.
We, as a people, do not require faster action against law breakers nor do we require penalties as stringently as we should.
Four people lost their jobs why shouldn't he? And this is not the first case in recent years where this has occured.
Now back to my main topic.
Where are you people who constantly berate and attempt to show the failures of politicians and private citizens who have their own threads.
I stand and say that the whole sheebang is screwed up on both sides of the political arena and readily admit that there are bad ones on both sides.
So just where do you stand on one of your own acting inappropriately?
Are you trying to just let it "go away" for your own agenda?
HMMMMMMM ???

It isn't about a cop doing something stupid, so it's no fun to trash him...
