| Political Conversation and Debate This forum is not a temporary one. It will exist up to, and after the presidential elections. Some people want to talk or even argue politics, other's don't. Let's see if we can apply some reason and understanding to the debate. |

Well I thought the tone of his speech was perfect...biting, but not disrespectful, which is important for him. The speech was of course well-delivered, we know he can give a good speech by now. He left a few holes open, which I'm sure the Repubs will be all to happy to exploit when they get their shot. But all in all, I'd say I was more informed (meaning impressed for me) after this speech than I thought I'd be...this was way more than the fluffier speeches earlier in the convention, or the typical "We're going to change Washington" boringness he's been putting forth for quite a while. I actually think he went for the W strategery, in the sense that he picked a bulldog for VP so he can come out and attempt to look more calm and moderate, which is a good plan by him. I'm still not convinced by a few things, mainly that taxing the rich (which doesn't hurt my feelings) will pay for everything he wants, and that's he's not going to do something really dangerous with Pakistan. But all in all, well done.

If you haven't heard the speech yet, I highly encourage it. It was really exciting to witness history last night (first African American to accept nomination). |

There are "honorable" ways to dispose of a flag and this is not one of them.....
http://blogs.denverpost.com/opinion/...can-recycling/ This morning, Republicans tell me that a worker at Invesco Field in Denver saved thousands of unused flags from the Democratic National Convention that were headed for the garbage. Guerrilla campaigning. They will use these flags at their own event today in Colorado Springs with John McCain and Sarah Palin. Before McCain speaks today, veterans will haul these garbage bags filled with flags out onto the stage ? with dramatic effect, no doubt ? and tell the story. ?What you see in the picture I sent you is less than half of total flags,? a Republican official emailed. ?We estimate the total number to be around 12,000 small flags and one full size 3?5 flag.? I?m not sure what the DNC was supposed to do with unused hand-flags, frankly. But the Republicans are obviously questioning someone?s patriotism here. |

This is the kind of BS that turns me off on the Republican Party. Focus on something important for a change, guys. Last edited by MaxBuck; 09-06-2008 at 04:02 PM. Reason: too real |

Too much thought is involved with that man. I'd rather discuss how McCain is a POW, and 9-11........9-11, and 9-11. Oh, and the fact that the Dem's are going let gay's get married, and allow "Merica" to lose the war on terror.
