What is wrong with raising taxes on people who make more than $250,000 a year? I mean...if you are rich...vote for McCain. But if you aren't, then why would you not vote for Obama? At least when it comes to taxes.

it was a good speech, but she hung obama out to dry. she didn't do much to convince her voters to vote for obama. it was all about her and how democrats should vote for obama because he's a democrat.

If you want to see Hillary become president, then a vote for Obama would likely help that. If Obama/Biden are in office the next 8 years, Biden won't run for President, and Hillary would be a frontrunner. And if Obama is as popular as he probably will be, she couldn't likely win it.

If McCain wins, then she could try again in 4 years, but it's always harder to beat an incumbent.

I don't know, I just don't understand how if you liked Hillary, that you could even think for voting for McCain. McCain is the exact opposite of Hillary.

Except the entire premise of his campaign has been that it is not about him, it is about "us" and our ideals. That message was aimed at former Hillary supporters who are not thrilled with Obama. According to the latest polls, that is the biggest group of swing voters. That group will likely never be personally sold on him. They have to be appealed to on another level. I thought she nailed that.

Hillary supporters are going to stomp their feet to the polls in November, and they will do one of two things:

1. Vote for McCain because they are bitter and angry.

2. Vote for Obama because they realize he best represents their ideals.


Hillary's speech conveyed strongly an encouragement to do the latter. If that did not get through to her supporters, nothing will.

she didn't give one reason why they should vote for him other than the fact that he's a democrat. if i were on the fence that speech would have done nothing to change my opinion.

That speech wasn't aimed at you. Of course, you would not hear it the same as someone who pinned their hopes on Hillary. That whole "if you were in this for me" piece went strait to the issue. No, she didn't talk about Obama's personality, but she said that he shares these values and these goals and these ideals. "Nothing less than the future of our children and the fate of our children hang in the balance." If that's not a reason to vote for the guy, I don't know what is.

Her whole speech was based on shared values with Obama and having the party unite with Obama. Did you listen to the whole thing, fourteen?

I don't know if this got covered on the networks (it wasn't on MSNBC which I was watching), although I had the internet feed rolling so I saw it. I thought Schweitzer was solid. The netroots love him.
