And alternately screaming/cackling while she sticks pins in her little Obama doll...
I must admit the democrats always manage to wrest defeat from the jaws of victory by picking bad candidates. It is unfortunate for the majority of the country that is middle of the road that they keep putting up right wing and ultra left candidates to win the "base", when the country is largely neither right nor left. And both sides keep us angry and divided by their strategies - which almost demand that we pick a side and a "team" to support. That team then is the important thing, so that when scum like Delay or Jefferson get in the cross hairs of an investigation it becomes more important to "defend the team" than to throw the bastard out and lock him up.
I can be spun up easier than I'd like to admit into a partisan pitch, and more often during election cycles when the "team" approach is more pronounced. It is stupid stupid stupid to have debates on issues, as that will not get you elected. It is far and away more effective to have attack ads that mis-characterize your opponent's position, or to create divisive issues like Flag burning that have zilch effect on our daily lives, but that push hot button in the voting booth.
Elephants like to create "patriotism" and intensely religious tinged issues. Democrats like to create and foster class warfare and attacks on those better off economically to get the block poor vote. Lost in the mix is the discussion of what might be actually better for the country. Like any discussion that is primarily a learning experience, for it to be effective it has to be genuine information that is the best effort by any proponent of a side to educate about their view. This should be followed by the other side, and then by questioning and examination arrive at a conclusion about which idea is best. Here, we have both sides lying out of their teeth about not only the other guy's side, but about their side as well. It is almost impossible to ferret out the truth when both sides are playing hide the ball.
Oh well. McCain is exactly like Bush and wants to be in Iraq until Twig Palin has grandkids and Obama wants to teach [censored]ing to five year olds....or so I've heard.
I can only conclude that there is one and only one truth in the world.
Wearing red and black together and/or "woofing" like a dog should be illegal in all 50 states and in Iraq. If not, what kind of civilization are we really trying to create over there?
