Honestly I thought this was the biggest issue that killed Gore in 2000, besides all the sighing and crap. Bush was promising across-the-board tax cuts, and Gore was talking about taxing the rich more and "targeted tax cuts" for a rather ubiquitous "middle class"...unfortunately he refused to define either term with specifics, so it was easy for people to say he was going to say you were "rich" if you made more than 50k a year. If Biden and Obama want to exploit this area, they'd better define what rich is very clearly.

I meant publicly, during the debates, on national TV, when millions are watching. The average voter doesn't go to that website...they watch the debates. They need to not make the mistake Gore made.

Maybe it's because I am addicted to the political and financial news this fall, but I feel like they have repeated this point ad nauseum. Of course, the McCain campaign keeps repeating that Obama will raise taxes, so maybe it's a wash. I am sure these specifics will come out in the debates.

I'd be interested to know how successful the website is. As is well publicized, Obama has raised most of his money through "small" donations on the web... I wonder if people are diving in to the issues links.

sometimes i wonder about the democratic party. they probably should have won th 2000 election after a nice run with bill clinton in the whitehouse, they certainly hands down should have run away with the 04 election, this one, are you serious, should it even be close? no. yet somehow they manage to step on their own feet, pick canidates who leave something to be desired and shot themselves in the foot.

biden has had his second major slip up id say, first the hillary would have been better, now the be more patriotic pay more taxes. the rnc hasnt used them but theyve stored the, if the race is close theyll use them
