Really nothing to do with Palin, but it says something important about our society IMO that we nowadays trust anything for which a "link" can be found, and distrust anything for which no link is available. We're all the loyal subjects of the interwebs!

I guess it is a subtle distinction, but I have no problem at all with thanking God for your gifts, be they physical or whatever. If she does win, it WILL be because God wants a winner that supports his agenda, and because God supports Republicans. If Obama wins, however, it will not be because God backs the Democratic plank, but because people where not praying enough, or because they were being punished for their evil behavior.

God as you personal source of strength is fine. God as your conscious ally against the political opposition is very frightening to me, as the final logical conclusion is this: if God is on my side, when you support Obama and the Democrats, you cannot be a follower of God's will.

If you support Obama, you act against God.

I do not like this.

It's embarrassing the right clings to the bible and destroys those who may be oppossed to it.

It's embarrassing Obama has to pretend to be a strong Christian.

Each side has played the religion card. Neither should have too.....

I don't think he's pretending, but it is a shame that politicians have to trumpet their churchyness for fear that if they don't, it will be used against them.

If Americans demand a religious test from their politicians, they are asking to be lied to. I also believe that Obama has christian values I'm just glad his interpretations and values differ from Palin's christian values.

Christian values I'm sure....but when he knocks people for clinging to their bibles, he probably isn't the strongest Christian. He is also still a smoker. How many saved Christians are putting out cigarrette butts outside the church?

And I don't care at all...b/c I'm not religious. I think it is ridiculous that a presedential candidate has to state they are Christian before they are taken seriously. Again, I think Romney is probably the Republican candidate if it weren't for being Mormon.
