I honestly don't know why you'd be shocked by that shiznit...whatever you think of them, FoxNews is still media, and to her all media are the enemy.

In fact, not to go on a rant here, but that's Palin's real problem in terms of everything from national prominence to national perception. To her and her camp, everyone is the enemy...Democrats, moderate Republicans, liberals, gays, pro-choice people, the government in general, and especially the media...and hey, I don't think she's too far off base on some of those, particularly the media in many cases. But when you make everyone the enemy, well, you voluntarily make everyone who is not one of you not like you. So, she's left with the diehards, and that's about it. That's fine for getting paid to preach to the choir and turning on some hardcore social conservative men (talk about a governor who could name her number of affairs if she wanted), but it isn't do much for broadening one's appeal.

Further, look at the pay in/pay out spread on federal dollars for Alaska. For someone who hammers away at Fed spending, she (and Ted Stevens) sure knew how to rake it in, allowing her to keep a lid on her own state tax base.

Terry Keenan: Palin's Crude Awakening

Forget the Jackson 5, this was the weekend for the Palin 5, as the soon-to-be ex-Governor, Sarah Palin pointed to a poll of her five children as the true reason behind her abrupt decision to step down as governor of the Frontier state. "Four yesses and one hell, yeah!" was the verdict of the Palin 5, ranging in age from 15 months to 20 years. Surely, plucky Piper, gave the most enthusiastic thumbs' up.

But as with most things Palin, what you hear is often a manufactured reality. It's a fair bet that a few months from now it will be abundantly clear that the quirky dynamics of the Alaskan economy had a lot more to do with Palin's retreat than that family poll.

Earlier this year, Alaskan state lawmakers estimated that the state would run a deficit of $2-3 billion dollars this year, based on $75 dollar barrel oil. It's now 15 percent below that mark, and even bigger deficits are looming.

Lower prices not only mean that Alaska has less revenue to tax, the state's cut goes down along with prices. When oil was at $120 a barrel, Palin was sitting pretty as the state took in more than 40 percent of every barrel coming out of Prudhoe Bay. Today, that cut is only about half as much.

Do the math and you can see why Palin wants out of Dodge as soon as possible. The longer she hangs on as governor, the more of her oil-fueled achievements are wiped away. Now that's reason enough to call an audible.

I hadn't actually watched any of the video of her making her announcement or responding to questions until now. This is so much worse than it looks on paper. Even in virtual unemployment she is in way over her head.

Can she explain anything she does or believes without using a (bad) analogy?

All I can say is that if you cannot handle the media or the job as Governor of one of the least populated states in the union then you certainly are not qualified to even be considered to sit under the microscope that is the oval office.
