If you think solar and wind are going to provide more than afraction of this countries energy needs w/ present technology, you are sadly mistaken. We need lots of nuclear power plants, and need them now-Pike County is building a new one for Duke Energy. As for cars, McCain proposed a $300million federal reward for building a workable electric car-why did BHO stick that in his spend-a-thon. I see nothing wrong w/ exploiting fossil fuel resources as much as possible' while at the same time developing other technologies. 5) We're the US, we'll do what we want and to hell with the rest of the world. We're the US, and we're pretty much the only country in the world that gives a darn when psychotic 3rd World despots try to destabilize the Middle East. Europe certainly doesn't care. we don't tell France how to conduct their foreign policy(or China), they shouldn't tell us how to conduct ours, unless they have have workable, practical solutions-and no, passing UN resolutions doesn't count.

I'm looking for GOP leaders to get back to the VALUES of paying as you go, acknowledging the problems facing the nation and inviting those affected to solve them, asking the nation to share the burden of defense, working to build alliances to solve the issues that would cause nations to go to war and Sarah is the answer the party is giving back to me.

Where's the GOP and Palin headed? Don't take my word for it. Listen to this interview from Dr. Richard Land, from the horse's mouth so to speak, and then tell me where the GOP is going.

I'll stand by my interpretations.

It runs about 21 minutes total and the final five should scare the bejeezees out of anyone who fears a theocracy in this country.

A governor who "resigns" mid-term is a damn quitter on his constituents. Matters not male or female, matters not Dem or GOP, matters not Hispanic or black or white. A quitter who has reneged on his commitment to the electorate.

You've hit some of the points. The setting back females in politics is partly because of the sexist views of the inability of women to [fill in the blank] as well as men. To those who feel that women are "too frail or emotional to be President", Palin's quitting* when the going got tough was an affirmation of that archaic view, and so could be seen by some as having set the women's movement (as far as the assertion that they are just as good as men in elected office) back.

The kitchen comment is just me being me.
