This is a question to our female posters here: A lot of people will see this as an overly obvious move to grab Hillary supporters. Do women feel like their political ideals are being caricatured if all political pundits think you need in a candidate is two X chromosomes?

No doubt the McCain campaign will find groups of women who will at the drop of a hat look directly into the camera and say "I was a Hillary supporter, but now that Palin is on the ticket I'm voting for McCain! (No commonaility in their platforms whatsoever? Who cares! You go girl!)" Is this empowering? Or Offensive?

Well I'm not a female, but I'll add this...he could have picked Condaleeza Rice or Kay Bailey Hutchinson too, but neither one of those women would have had a prayer of cementing any disillusioned Hillary voters. This was calculated based on a number of factors, of which her being female is one, but only one.

Wow, that's tough. I certainly can't speak for all women, but personally I think it's crazy to think that a woman would vote for McCain simply because he picked a female for a VP. I'd like to think that most women are smart enough to look at what a candidate stands for before they blindly vote.

I would never have voted for Hillary, and that has nothing to do with her gender. I have to say, Palin very much intrigues me though. She seems to be very much her own woman. We shall see.
