I'm thrilled with this pick. I am a big Romney supporter, but she brings so much more than he does. I saw her on CNBC back in July and was very impressed, but I didn't think she would get picked.

In her speech Palin blatantly appealed to Hillary voters. I would expect that a response from Hillary distancing herself from most of Palin's positions on the issues is imminent.

Yeah and Obama went with the "safe" pick. Put it this way, Biden isn't going to bring anything to Obama's campaign that isn't already there. Palin has the chance to do so with McCain, albeit she is a bigger wildcard than Biden is.....big risk and possibly a big reward for McCain.

As muckfich said, this could really really work well for McCain or it could blow up in his face. There really isn't a middle ground at the moment....

Probably the most important thing is that this announcement has completely swung the coverage from the DNCC to McCain's campaign....
