| Political Conversation and Debate This forum is not a temporary one. It will exist up to, and after the presidential elections. Some people want to talk or even argue politics, other's don't. Let's see if we can apply some reason and understanding to the debate. |

Moderate politcally, as in conservative, moderate, or liberal. A moderate would spend more than a conservative. Two different spectrums.

Having long ago made up my mind on who to vote for, I really can't be objective in this discussion. It seems to me that McCain didn't get the person he wanted and thus went for impact. But what has really surprised me is the enthusiasm I'm reading from the Repubs on this site.
How would you folks (the Repubs) describe yourselves? A) Moderates B) Fiscal and Legal conservatives C) Social conservatives D) America Firsters E) Buchannan followers How many of you think Bush has been a good president? |

wouldn't increasing the national debt more than any other president in the history of the United States make Bush a "liberal" spender if that's the case

I would strongly disagree. Think Hilary Clinton. Last edited by sepia5; 08-29-2008 at 11:02 PM. |

Certainly not as bad of one as I'm sure you do, but it's a non-issue for the 2008 election. The bigger issue for me is how much I don't want to see Obama as president, especially if (for instance) something big goes down with Russia or any Supreme Court seats open up.

![]() That is so lame. I'll let you call Bush moderate based on his "liberal" spending policies if I can call Obama moderate because he has a conservative attitude towards the environment. |

Your sarcasm is really cute. The average life expectancy for white males in the United States is 76. I don't think it takes a doctor to realize that the life expectancy of a 72-year-old white male who has been subjected to an especially physically strained life should be a concern when that man elects to run for the most powerful position in the world.
![]() Says the guy who labels Obama "ultra-liberal" and, unlike almost 80% of America, doesn't think the Bush administration has been that bad. I do realize this. Do you, on the other hand, really believe that she would have gotten past the VP-search threshold had she been a he? Frankly, I just see the support for Palin from people like you that continue to attack Obama on the experience issue as the height of hypocrisy. Last edited by sepia5; 08-29-2008 at 11:03 PM. |

That is a good point. Then again, the AARP hasn't exactly agreed with McCain on many points.
