Sarah Palin was the mayor of a town that is smaller than Bucyrus by about 4,000 people. Yes, you can actually find a town smaller than Bucyrus. Just like I could, or the current mayor of Bucyrus could. The question here is if they could function effectively. Mind you, the whole population of Alaska would fit somewhere in the lower teens when comparing it to population of the major U.S. cities. Columbus has a larger population than the whole state of Alaska. Think about that one for a minute. New York City has a population nearly 13 times the size of Alaska.

To say that she could function as VP is a huge stretch, she really hasn't done a whole hell of a lot......... Perhaps you should take off your own right wing blinders here bro.

There is now something infantilizing about this election. Mr. Obama continued to claim he will remove wasteful spending by sitting down with the federal budget and going through it "line by line." This is absurd, and he must know it. Mr. McCain continued to vow he will "balance the budget" in the next four years. Who believes that? Does even he?
More than ever on the campaign trail, the candidates are dropping their G's. Hardworkin' families are strainin' and tryin'a get ahead. It's not only Sarah Palin but Mr. McCain, too, occasionally Mr. Obama, and, of course, George W. Bush when he darts out like the bird in a cuckoo clock to tell us we are in crisis. All of the candidates say "mom and dad": "our moms and dads who are struggling." This is Mr. Bush's former communications adviser Karen Hughes's contribution to our democratic life, that you cannot speak like an adult in politics now, that's too austere and detached, snobby. No one can say mothers and fathers, it's all now the faux down-home, patronizing—and infantilizing—moms and dads. Do politicians ever remember that in a nation obsessed with politics, our children—sorry, our kids—look to political figures for a model as to how adults sound?

Hate? Not sure where you got that man, maybe a bit extreme of a word choice. Ironic that I'd hear a supporter of a McCain-Palin ticket talking about hate. Watching a McCain or Palin rally is to the point of a Jerry Springer show. The audiences are so animated, lots of hate is spewed there (at these rallys). You've got the words "kill him" and "terrorist" being yelled. I think I am in the majority when you read of Americans thinking that McCain has run a, by far, more negative campaign.

Not sure where you get hate here, I do not hate Palin by any means. I just think that she is in over her head here, something that is not good when looking to hold a major office. That makes McCain look questionable with his decision making as well.
