Some thoughts.

Group identification and conflict is rife in any population that views itself as having fewer opportunities than others or less opportunities than it deserves.

Racism, genderism, religious intolerance and the like are not the vestige of the Republican or Democratic parties.

Group conflict, whether driven by racism, social class, or any other dimension, has serious and very negative consequences for any society.

Think of yourself as an American and human-being first, then worry about other sources of identity. Act in a way that makes diversity a plus in your life.

Political tools are political tools, regardless of party affiliation. The Obamaites have temporarily convinced themselves that they are on some kindof crusade, instead of behaving as typical politicians. The GOP went through this in 94(the "crusade" mentality)-it will pass.

Thing is these people have always been here...and they were much more prominent 30-40 years ago. Thankfully they have been mostly banished to behind the [censored]-off curtain, but unfortunately the combination of a black liberal being elected President and the anger/frustration of getting swept away in the last 3 election cycles has allowed these pablum pukers a new, albeit hopefully brief, window with which to actually crawl out from under a rock and act relevant. Hopefully they will go back from whence they came very soon. The left (including some people on Kos, actually) have such characters too...they were much more vocal from 2000-2004. They'll be back eventually...they're just gloating now, much like this lady was in 2002, I imagine.
