this is what i want to hear McCain say.

"my friends, this is bigger than any presidential candidate. neither myself or barack obama can make things go back to how they were. we, as a nation, have to take our medicine and stick with the principles that made our country great. hard work, low taxes and free markets. it won't be an easy road out, but this is the only road out. no bailout or congressional bill can stop the market from doing what it needs to do. place your vote for me and i pledge to you that i will fight to defend these principles"

something along those lines, but more eloquently

no more BS gimmicks, tell the truth to america and he will run away with this election.

I have no faith whatsoever in Bob Schieffer doing anything approaching a decent job of moderating this thing. He should just leave the stage now and let them have at it.

I'd like to hear Obama say something like:

"It is clear that the lasting impact of the last 8 years has been that the majority of Americans have lost their faith in the government. I promise the American people that I will rebuild that trust by cutting the fat and making government work for the average citizen again."

I liked McCainasking Obama "why would you want to raise anyone's taxes?" His point on 11% tax in Ireland makes sense when talking about trying to bring International business to the United States.
