| Political Conversation and Debate This forum is not a temporary one. It will exist up to, and after the presidential elections. Some people want to talk or even argue politics, other's don't. Let's see if we can apply some reason and understanding to the debate. |

Rev. Wright hasn't gotten back to him on that point, yet.

Capital investment into a business does not necessarily mean that the owners are in it for long-haul. For example, if you want to sell your house and give the impression that it's a viable place to live, it's not out of the question that you put on a new roof, change to more energy-efficient windows, add a deck in the back, put up some new landscaping, etc. Why are home sellers willing to spend that cash if they're getting out? Because they know that it will increase (or at least shore up) the value of the home. The same logic applies to businesses. There could be a number of other business / economic reasons behind the investment, but that's one simple way of showing that it's not likely that the owner just fell out of love with the business after Nov. 4th. |

Caddy is 2006 bro. Lil Wayne is even off of them now. 2009 is all about the Lincoln.

I have to admit that I couldn't be more disgusted with Obama's economic team. For Christ's sake why not just appoint god damned Phil Gramm. It wouldn't be any worse than loading up the administration with disciples of Gramm's co-conspirator, Rubin.
The people whose stupendous miscalculations and colossal failure led to this economic meltdown are now supposed to be looked to in fixing the problem? Am I the only one missing something here? ![]() |

I'm a little disappointed with is what appears to be a reunion (of sorts) of the Clinton administration and advisors under the banner of the Obama presidency. I haven't assembled a full list and a set of bios, but there seems to be a "served as xxxx under in Clinton administration" common denominator when I hear/read about the picks.
If I wanted a bunch of Clintonites running things, I would have voted for [gasp!] HRC. I realize I'm perhaps making swift judgment, and I'm not implying that a team of advisors that was previously active in the Clinton administration is necessarily an altogether bad thing, but I guess I was looking for something a little different, a fresh approach, a departure from the past. Not a big deal, really, because the team hasn't really taken office yet, but just a bit of a disappointment in terms of the choices that are being made. These are tough times and we need to act quickly to right the ship, but I'm not so sure we have to sell our souls to beltway insiders in order to get things back on track. |

Are you guys seeing press coverage about the alleged angst developing being attributed to Islamic extremists, due to the election of Obama?
We are beginning to hear more and more that there is fear that Obama cannot be counted on to over-react and push moderates toward the extremists. The argument goes that Obama will be able to sway moderate Muslims to dump the extremists. It is really gathering steam out here in the emerging economies. |

Yeah... you missed that trade back in '88 where the Republicans had to take the NeoCons from the Dems straight up for the supply siders.

Couldn't we have just sent both groups back down to the minors?
